The top performances in Major League Baseball this week were by Hisashi Iwakuma of the Seattle Mariners, Matt Kemp of the San Diego Padres and Jackie Bradley Jr., of the Boston Red Sox.

Iwakuma tossed the fifth no-hitter in the history of the Mariners in Seattle on Wednesday, Aug. 12.

Iwakuma struck out seven and walked three in a 3-0 victory over the Baltimore Orioles. The win put him at 4-2 this season with a 3.86 ERA.

Kemp became the first player in the 47-year history of Padres to hit for the cycle as they won 9-5 in Colorado on Friday, Aug. 14. Kemp had four hits with four RBI.

The outfielder started with a two-run homer in the first inning. Kemp led off the third with a single. After grounding out in the fifth, he had a RBI double to give the Padres a 5-4 lead. He finished the cycle with a run-scoring triple in the ninth.

In his initial season in San Diego, Kemp is batting .262 with 13 homers and 68 RBI.

Bradley, Jr. led a barrage by the Red Sox in a 22-10 win in Fenway Park over the Mariners. He had a pair of homers to go with three doubles as he drove in seven runs, while scoring five times.

This season, he has four long balls with 17 RBI and a 247 batting average.
