Fiers threw the 11th no-hitter in the history of the Astros on Friday, Aug. 21. He beat the Los Angeles Dodgers with 10 strikeouts, while walking three.
The 30-year old right-hander is 1-0 with a 2.42 ERA in four games since his trade to the Astros with Carlos Gomez in a six-player swap with Milwaukee Brewers on July 30. Overall, he is 6-9 with an ERA of 3.63.
The no-hitter was the first for the Astros since the combined effort against the New York Yankees from Roy Oswalt, Peter Munro, Kirk Saarloos, Brad Lidge, Octavio Dotel and Billy Wagner on June 11, 2003.
Cespedes had his bat working in a 14-9 victory over the Colorado Rockies in Denver on Friday, Aug. 21.
The 29-year old slugger had five hits including three homers and a double to go with seven RBI. He also scored five times had a stolen base.
Since his trade from the Detroit Tigers for a pair of minor leaguers on July 31, Cespedes has five home runs with 16 RBI and a .318 batting average in 19 contests. For the season, he has 23 long balls with 77 RBI, while hitting .295.
